  • RIP Harmon Killebrew

I never saw you play, but always appreciated your surname. That should have been my surname as I can kill a brew or two.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Damn, didn't he just check himself into hospice care a few days ago?

Apparently esophogeal cancer doesn't fuck around

"May 14, 2011 ... Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew says he will no longer fight esophageal cancer and is settling in for the final days of his life."

      Just 3 days ago. Damn.

        RIP.

Hospice care is for the terminally ill who only have a very short time to live. Never knew he was ill.

Yeah, I guess I just expected more than 3 days.

Sounds about right for hospice. It really is the death nail.

Every case is different. My father in law lasted 2-3 months with hospice before passing.

RIP - He was the player my dad grew up idolizing and in turn I always thought he was the best when I was a kid. I can't remember the year but I know he hit 49 homers one year and was MVP.

He was a bad ass. Hit over 570 HR's BEFORE they were juicing.

Once you get to the last stage of Kubler-Ross death isnt far off. Kinda like the stories you hear of people that have been married for 60yrs and the surviving spouse dies shortly after the other.
                    RIP Mr Killebrew.

Does anyone know if he was a smoker?

Pretty cool story here about "the red chair" at the Mall of America, for those that have been there and seen it.

Almost all cases of esophageal cancer are caused by smoking.

RIP Harmon. That has to be one bitter pill to swallow to know you have a few days left to live. Atleast you got to hold your wife in your final moments.
