I had a lay over there and had to call them a few times. I found the few encounters I had with someone from London they were dick weeds.

Ya, I got a lot of that in London proper, but once you get out a little ways, it gets a lot better.

Yeah, and I was completely nice. When I heard what I was hearing I was like holy shit, and people say Americans are assholes?

Good suggestions from 46Tbird. I also enjoyed hitting up some good pubs while I was there.

When I went in 2005, the best thing I did was purchase a 24 hour bus pass. Those double decker buses will take you all over the city. They make several stops and run basically all day.

Take in a 'futbol' match, go to Ronnie Scotts to catch some cool music

I was there recently and it sucked IMO- terrible food, jam packed on the tube, smelled like curry, dirty, melting pot of humanity......I could find other places to visit I don't get the hype. You'll feel like you just went to the middle east.

I guess once you see all the sights you can say you've been there......

I liked going outside the city limits better myself, especially pubs. Gotta visit a few castles while you're there. Soccer game, changing of the guards, london dungeon, stonehenge. Food sucks, weather sucks, mind the gap.

Additions: St. Pauls Cathedral is good visit - climb the staircase if you can.

If you fly into Gatwick... Take a 4 mi. cab ride to a wide spot in the road called Horley. There is a pub and restraunt called the Six Bells. It was built in 692 A.D. and has been a pub since the 1600's. Drink a pint to the memory of John Boling- SBS. One seroiusly bad ass Royal Marine and a true artist with improvised munitions. It was his local. I haven't been back in a few years - i'm sure the bloke is getting thirsty.

Are these pretty cool? What exactly do they have on display?

Pretty much everything has been said as far as I know lol. I was there last month and did

                              London Bridge,
                              Big Ben,
                              London eye
A movie museum right next to the london eye (if you are into movies its cool)
Bulkingham Palace (and change of gaurd)
Right down the street is an Austrian military monument, pretty cool.
                              Various old castles.

Did that all in one day. Wear running shoes or hiking boots and the undergound subway will be worth the money if you dont have another way to get around. The tour buses are also cool but I didn't use them. Wish I could have had more time to do more museums, and historical stuff. Its expensive as shit there! I think it was 1.6 Dollar to the british pound. Worth it though. have fun

                                Westminster was downright gorgeous.

Tower of london was meh, but would still go and do the tour.

I wish i spent more time at the British Museum.

I had an unlimited british rail pass that allowed me to go allover the country so i saw quite a bit. The rail museum in Leeds was awesome.
