  • Big ass jack stands?

Looking at these 6 tons jack stands from HF... anyone have a set? The problem I've been running into is all my jackstand/lift equipment is all for my vette and other low vehicles. Now that I have this Jeep I can't get the damn thing up high enough. Is this the best buy for large jack stands?

If you want to get it higher go with the 12ton. I use the 6 ton to work on the stang and its a lil tight under there.

I just don't see how or why I would need 3 feet of lift on my jeep, considering i'll be holding the frame rail, the tub will literally be 3 feet off the ground, I could sit under the damn thing.

Make sure the individual jack stand is rated to 12 tons and not the pair. As 2 six ton jacks can handle 12 tons if equally dispersed. Similarly 4 six tons jacks could theoretically handle 24 tons

I have a couple of pairs of the 6 ton stands I use with my Jeep. If I needed anything higher, I'd just go to a buddy's shop and use his lift.

What's the downside to being able to sit under a truck you are working on?

I've used both, taller is nice whne you are working on a trans swap or something where you need to get in yout or don't want to do it on your back.

CJ If you need a iftt, I have a shop in Venus with one ill "rent" for a few hours to you.

I really appreciate it man! I've already started in my driveway, both axles are out of it at the moment, so I don't think it's going to be driving anywhere anytime soon!

I have 2 sets of them and they are pretty stout. I've used em to pull trannies out of my Trans Am and my Grand National and get both cars up pretty high...and get my Z71 up about a foot. Much stronger and taller than traditional run of the mill jackstands.

Those are knock off of a more expensive set of stands. They are probably made out of the same material and just as good. I have a set of the 12 ton model and they have held up very well over the last 10 years.

I use 6 tons for my (lifted) Grand Cherokee.
