I had a customer run over a beaver in lewisville at 121 and 35. She took pictures and showed me the dead beaver. Without thinking I said oh a bloody beaver and she started crackin up.

I hit a rather large Chow in my lowered '71 SWB Cheby about 10yrs ago. It goobered up the license plate, the headlight bezel and tweaked the bumper. That was the most God awful noise in the cab of the truck, made my head spin.

It knocked him about 60' ahead of me into a newspaper stand on the side of the road.

You're smoother then I am, it's a general reaction to me - at least to a point. The second reaction will depend on the animal, but initial reaction time usually does not allow enough time to think about it enough.

Key is not to over-react, which can be easier said then done too.
