I'd take full advantage of it.

We use to budjet $500 a month for auto insurance, all gas, and all vehicle maintenance... we would always be under budjet... not anymore it is an easy $600 plus for gas alone plus maintenance and insurance now.
I feel yah...I'm spending 360 a month but that is just to work and back...not including the gas for the toys I use on the weekends

That's not practical in my line of work. It would be hard to make a 4-6 hour commit ETA when the site is 150-200 miles away. But I try not to bitch about gas prices - I just take a little longer to get the job done .

If it makes you feel better, I've spent almost double that since the first of the month.

Same here. I'll do 60-65 as well. I just stay in the right lane, which doesn't always work. I still get fast lane folks that like to do 80 in the right lane and expect me to get out of their way.

                Times like these I'm glad I got a 4-banger over a v8 truck when I was shopping for a new vehicle in late 07. $40 > $100

I think his point is that the fish got low balled, fucked in the catfish asshole and you paid half price. The worst part was the fish explaining to his fish friends why his asshole smelled like redneck

Yeah probably, it wont break the bank though. I'll use the cash I've saved since becoming a transit monkey.

Before I got laid off I was spending 150 - 175 a week just for myself, and another 60 or so a week for my old lady.

Try spending 800 - 850 a month for fuel, not counting changing the oil every month, insurance, and all the other bullshit that comes with a 130 mile commute.

I get .50 a mile from my company so I'm not really concerned right now. I do however don't like putting the miles on my truck. Its not even 2 months old and I'm at 6500 miles.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck EVERY bit of that !!

I don't know how much a month I spend on gas, and I don't want to know ! I do know that my driving has changed from hauling ass everywhere, to easing it around everywhere. I don't really have to be anywhere in such a hurry that I can't take a few extra minutes to get there by driving slower.
