I just made the drive from DFW to San Diego and back. I definitely recommend seeing meteor crater first and then the Grand Canyon. Meteor crater looks like an insignificant hole in the ground compared to the Grand Canyon if you do it the other way around. Both are really cool.

Grand Canyon was $25 (week-long pass); I was only able to spend a couple hours there, but I'd easily pay another $25 to see it again.

That's what my family did every summer. We would go off for a month and take a different direction each time. My dad was a huge road trip guy.

My parents did the same. I've been through about 40 states. Utah will be cool to add to the list.

Makes sense. Thanks for the advice! The last roadtrip I took to Vegas, we got to the crater right at 6 when they were closing. We tried dragging an 86 Saleen on the back of a Ranger through the desert to find a back road to it, but no bueno.

How do you people get so much time off of work? I get 2 weeks max, and that's accrued.

2 weeks, fuck that! My company starts at 3 weeks a year, then 4 after 5 years. Yiu can save up till you reach 275 hours, then they either make you take time off or it no longer accrues. I have 152 hours right now.

Oh, we also get like 12 or 13 holidays/personal days off too.
