Do you maintain your own pool or have a pool service?

My pool a couple of weeks ago...looked out the window one Saturday morning to see ducks. I let the shit go too far after all the rain...kind of resembles antifreeze, how refreshing...

My pool looked like that too. All I did was spray the filters off and put in fresh DE and it and ran my pump for 48 hrs non stop. The only chemical I used was chlorine tablets in two floating dispensers. After that I vacumed the pool about three times and now it's clear.

I've worked at Leslie's and local pool companies (in D/FW and Lubbock) and Leslie's products are as good if not better than any local shop (stronger active ingredient and less "miscellaneous" ingredients). Cheaper too. Unfortunately most of the people that work at Leslie's don't know that H2O = water so good advice is hard to come by.

I'm sure you were a great asset compared to the others you worked with but to me Leslie's is like Auto Zone. They have a habit of hiring staff that can not help you. This is why I stay away from them.

30-35 a week is about right on service. the key to keeping algae off of the sides is keeping water circulation good and water temps down. not so easy on large pools.
