I know this may seem like a stupid question, but what should I expect from her employer as far as covering the expenses?

She has a history of torn ACLs so I am afraid this could lead to something big.
Is that one of the small medical places that take walk-ins with minor injuries and such?

The one and only time I ever got hurt at work, I was sent to one of these "doc-in-a-box" places, and the doc there was a fucking quack and sent me right back to work. This went back and forth for 7 months. The company doc kept saying there was nothing wrong, so I had to change to a non-company doctor. Long story short, I ended up having surgery a week after seeing the new doc to trim part of the rotator cuff, remove scar tissue and having a pin put in my shoulder to reconnect a tendon.

It's an emergency care facility. They are everywhere.

That's because your company was trying to avoid a recordable injury. I know a company that sends their injuries to a fucking chiropracter so they can avoid recordables.

The company i work for has a list of doctors and hospitals for each location and you are able to pick whatever one you choose. Of course if it looks like a first aid the injury is screened before any action is taken. Saves the company a ton of money.
        See you later...

Well you got the basics... file an incident report. Go to the facility they approve, get the paperwork filled out by the doctor, follow up with the workers comp for a note to go back to work.

Yeah, 'doc-in-a-box'. Same type I was sent to then. Same type of place I went to in January, because I hurt my hand. The doc there said it wasn't broken after looking at it, said no X-ray was needed, but two weeks ago when I saw an orthopedic specialist for my bum hip, he looked at it, took an X-ray, and confirmed it was broken in several places but had already fused.

I wouldn't trust any of those places. Your results may vary.

He is doing ok. He just tested the theory of gravity. Couple stitches on the way. No concussion. He is already trying to tear up the room.
