Its not really celebrated in Mexico. Its more of the Tex-Mex people who celebrate it here in the states and few parts in Mexico. Sept. 16th is the Mexican Independence Day...not May 5th as most people think..

St Patrick didn't gain anyone's ondependance. He was a Saint i can see where you might lump him with cinco de mayo, but it's not really the same.

I remember that storm, that is the one that pummeled the Mayfest celebration. fucked some people up IIRC.
