I haven't been to Uncle Julio's but my wife made it sound like it was pricey. Maybe I need to see for myself, but I can't bring myself to spend more than $12-15 on tex-mex.
It probably costs $1.50 to make a descent size meal for one person with Tex-mex.
Thier fajita beef is really good. The salsa is made fresh daily, and sometimes it's much better than others. I am convinced they just "wing it" when they make it, because it's always different. They have stuffed chili rellenos the size of your head. The mexican butter and flour tortillas are fucking glorious. Most people I go with get the Senora platter, but I've never had it. I can't vouch for anything else on the menu. You might give them another try, though. Oh, and the service there is awful unless you sit at the bar. It's fantastic at the bar. And I don't mean in the bar at the side tables. You have to sit at the actual bar if you want decent service. The one in Fort Worth is better in every way, but it's far and usually packed like sardines.
Now that you mention it. Service was slow and had to constantly ask for refills. Not on par with the price tag of "Fine" Mexican food dinning.

Then this place definitely isn't for you. Overpriced and marginal at best. With poor service to boot.
