For the record, I don't think you have to have a paypal account to send money, only to receive. That could have changed though ...

You dont need paypal to contribute. You go to your User CP and go to the bottom left side and click paid subscriptions it will take to a page where you can either pay with a CC or log into your paypal and pay from there. So you do NOT need paypal to contribute.
