  • The Best Damn Garage In Town..

    Is no longer.

It's a sad time in our family and for old gearheads everywhere. As a few of you know, Smokey Yunick is/was my wife's great uncle and also a pioneer in this hobby. Sadly, his legendary garage burnt down Monday night . So much of his memorbilia and cars spread all over the place, the garage was the last place where some of the original stuff was located. I hope some of you got to visit it before. A true piece of automotive history.

Total loss. Due to the old building being grandfathered in, the fire department couldn't enter the building to save it. Asbestos, oil, gas etc was inside, therefor they weren't allowed to go in.

Damn I didn't know that place was in Daytona Beach. I would've stopped by when we drove through at the beginning of the year.

That sucks!!! I’ve read many stories about Smokey Yunick. I especially liked how he cheated on his racecars. That shit was funny and it's not like everyone else wasn't doing it back in the day.
