If a package was received on Monday at 6PM shouldn't overnight shipping get it here today? This is from Houston to DFW.

Well it is not here. All it says is "initiated" on the FedEx page. I always remember the FedEx page having a lot more information regarding the package ie when it was picked up, which station it was at, when it departs etc. All I have is "initiated".Originally posted by 8mpg View Post

When I go to the Consulate website it says it was picked up by FedEx at 6:13 PM Monday. I just now verified on the FedEx page that the package should have been here by 3 PM. I called them and "initiated" means it was called in to FedEx but was never picked up. I am still confused. If it was called yesterday that gives ALL day today to be picked up. FedEx's last pickup from businesses is something stupid like 3 PM, unless specifically scheduled. After close of business hours (5 PM) they typically won't pick up from a business unless the delivery guy is still in the area. Overnight means overnight from next business day of it's after business hours. So basically, it should not say mailed out until today, unless FedEx admits they picked it up yesterday. If they did then they are at fault.Comment

The pickup order was "initiated" after the FedEx pickup for the day for that business. The sender could have taken the "parcel" (or couriered it) to the FedEx late pickup point in order to make it out that day. We do this several times per week for our customers when the parcel won't be ready for our normal 6:30 FedEx pickup.Originally posted by 347Mike View PostComment
