Someone has to pay for the football scouts.

At some point the property tax will have to be addressed.

You are missing the boat though, it isn't the county that eats you alive on property taxes, it is the local ISD. Some school districts will rob you blind.
              This.

What you have to watch is what ISD you report under. Example...

              CPL PLANO CITY 0.488600000
              GCN COLLIN COUNTY 0.240000000
JCN COLLIN CO COMMUNITY COLLEGE 0.086300000
              SFR FRISCO ISD 1.390000000

Why do fuckin high schools have to be so huge. I just came from a company that was building a school for Eagle Mountain - Saginaw. 125 acres $126 mil +.

600,000 sq ft school with college campus ammenities, a 20,000 seat stadium with a field house to rival some colleges, a Career and Tech center along with a whole slew of baseball, soccer, aoftball practice fields and mini stadiums.

We need to be focusing more on academics than we are on fucking sports.

How much is state on top of that? 2.2049% just for schools? Insane.

I know Delta County is cheap but my taxes are zero so they could have gone up since I last paid

Because capital funds are excluded from the Robin Hood plan. If the schools don't use money for capital projects it gets stolen from them by the state who then sends it to south Texas to educate illegals at your expense because they are "entitled" to an education.

Yep, yep. I graduated from Northwest 3 years ago when they had one high school. They finished the 28 million dollar stadium when I was a sophomore. It's impressive, but like you said: sports. Since then they built a new high school that sounds similar to the one you just described. I'm wondering how they can pay for that when they're whining about budget cuts.
