You never said he didn't smell the smoke. Most people can, though. Trust me, it makes a difference. I passed up on a beautiful coupe when I was home on vacation just because I could tell it was smoked in.

Nope. Windows open, vents open, no smell. I used to smokein my Honda all the time. I had someone appraise its value and he asked if I smoked in the car (se noticed my cigarettes). He commented on how it didn't smell like smoke at all.

I can simultaneously seperate the cherry from the butt when I flick the cigarette. However, when in the car, I flick the cherry and throw the butt in a mostly empty water bottle with a lid.
