That's because you're using too much gas pedal tryin to stay close. The nervousness of being so close causes you to waste gas by feathering the throttle all the time.

i disagree due to the height. in nascar yeah maybe on the bumper is good but since the trucks are alot taller it makes sense that the draft would be going way over the top reducing its effectiveness.
