I had on like Leah is talking about too. It absolutely needs to be on level ground. Once the temp gets steady in the 90 degree plus, it will fill like a warm bath in that thing. No one will want to get in it. Plus it will leave a stinking dead spot in your yard when you take it down.

It was nice while the water was cool. I would get some type of floating fountain to put in it and at night turn it on with a fan blowing through the spray. It will actually cool the water overnight.

It's an Intex just like the one in the picture on the left. It isn't the combo model, just the chlorine generator. We also have a ladder and a bunch of floaties, noodles and games if anyone is interested.

I would stay away from the plastic ones. But if you want to spend the money a good metal one will work well. We put in a 30 ft round in our old house. Used for 5 summers no problems. With the pool, install, and deck I had about 5000k in it. Worth every penny.

I had one last summer. It was a Intex 24ft round pool and was BADASS!! I bought it at Walmart for around 600-700(i don't remember)I built a big sand box under it so it would be soft when you step in it. As far as maintenance You will spend around 200 bucks to but chemicals for it and maybe around 60-70 bucks a month for pills and shock!

I had to move and sold it to a board member, don't remember his name tho.

we bought the 24 foot round by 52" deep one from walmart. We've had it 4 years and it's worked great. Use a saltwater setup or make sure the clorine is right and it's not to bad. Biggest problem with the cheap above ground pools is the pumps are to small. I had a left over spa pump and converted that for the pump and NO more problems at all.

                                ...

We bought a $300 12' Intex from Wallyworld. It lasted one year before the pump went out. The kids got their money's worth out of it though. I bought a bigger, better pump for about $100 and it would clean the pool in less than a day instead of 3 or 4 days that the factory pump did. The next summer, the pool split open at the seam, so there was no fixing it. I bought another used pool off craigslist for $100. We used it all summer. I decided not to take it down during the winter. The water started looking pretty bad in the fall, so I drained it. Then, the winter winds blew that thing all over the yard and the pole poked holes all in it. Now, my wife decided to buy another one. This time, I thing I'll use a saltwater filter and maybe let it run a few time during the winter to keep the pool clean.
