You get a sticker, so you can spend more time at one stop and grab the next Trolley, or you can skip the stops that don't interest you.
It would be great for a 5 year old's attention span.
It looks like they've added several more stops, and have packages for some of the more popular attractions.

Balboa Park would be great for the wife and yourself, it's a beautiful area, but it's alot of walking so not at all kid friendly. The tour of the bay is scenic and relaxing, but again, not much fun for a 5 year old. Mt. Helix is a beautiful place to take a picnic lunch, it's an old out door theatre on top of one of the "mountains" just to the east of San Diego. Great view of the city, and you can see clear to Mexico.

Where are you at?Originally posted by V8tt View PostWe hit the zoo and Coronado last time we went but I will def. check into the other stuff you mentioned. The trolly sounds fun...certainly for a five year old. Thanks for the info Jen.

We've been kicking around a couple of ideas. It'll be my wife and I and the two older children.
1. Drive to Los Angeles and do Universal Studios, Hollywood, Griffith Observatory, Malibu beach, Santa Monica pier, etc. Having been to LA a lot and my deep hatred for that area, I'm not excited.....but I'd make the best of it.
2. Drive to New York City. I can drive this in my sleep, but I'd like to be able to stop along the way and check out some civil war battlefields....plus, there is a fort at the base of the Verrazano Bridge that I've passed a million times and would really like to check out.
3. (This is the most likely) Moab, UT! Off-roading, hiking, camping, mountain biking, beautiful scenery, white water rafting.....all with the comforts of home nearby.

I recommend taking the Old Town Trolly Tour while y'all are out there. In a day's time, you can hit Seaside Village, The Gaslamp Dist, Old Town, Balboa Park, and Coronado Island in one swoop.

Originally posted by Big A View PostIt's all higher, but any decent-sized city near the coast is astronomical, and as you get closer to the ocean it goes up exponentially. In the neighborhood just north of me there are older homes that I would say range from $200k-$300k in a nice neighborhood in the metroplex, and the last one I saw with a for sale sign out front was priced just over $800k. There are other's that are "worth" well over $1M, that are just older 4 and 5 bedroom houses, and this is about 20 minutes from the closest beach.

We went out there with her in January for a week and everything is expensive out there..especially housing. Her coworker pays $2500/month for a 900 sq ft townhouse that is just ok. It is not extravagant at all. I guess that is Cali for you. We are spending a week in Florida at my son's baseball World Series and then we are headed to the Beaches Resort at Turks and Caicos for another week. A friend of my wifes stayed there with her family and said it was amazing. Our suite opens onto the beach! Cant wait.

Then Sometime. Around Oct the wife and I are probably going to do a trip to Jamaica or something like that. We normally do Mexico but it sounds like that might not be the safest trip this year
