I am debating, i have a 00z28 that is fully built. It runs 11.70's on motor all day long, I havn't been to the track on the 175 spray yet. It is mainly my daily driver, I have an 05 accord coupe but I live so close to work that I enjoy driving the camaro, I found an 03 cobra, needs a motor has 38k on it, DSG in color. I am really tempted I sent the guy a message and we talked and I am meeting up at his shop. My z28 does have 172k on the body, but the driveline is pretty much new and pretty much bullet proof. Value wise the cobra is worth more when it is running, but the key is going to be nickel and diming to make it run again, the motor is out and he bought it as a project, so I know alot will be missing. Who would trade and who would not trade just seeing what some of you would do.

Have you tried finding a replacement Cobra engine yet? Figure at least $5000 for one. Yeah I know there are plenty of people selling them for cheaper but unless you see the title to the car it came out of I'd be scared. Lots of thieves out there peddling parts these days.
When we could actually get the reman ones they were $3850+$2000 core charge for a dressed long block.

If i got it, it would be running in a few weeks. This is how I got my Z right now, I had a running stock 98z28 traded for mine with a blown motor, by end of the month I had the lq9 and it has been running ever since. My z has 172k on it, so my miles are high, I was thinking my car was only going to be worth about 8-9k on the highside, a clean running cobra is about 19k, He has the motor, but needs to be rebuilt, I figure with all the missing stuff I will be about 4500-5000k in the hole.
P.S. I will be keeping the z he just texted me and said he wants cash on top. Yesturday was a straight trade now he wants cash so I think I will just keep my Z.93gt 331 ys trim, tremmec, 5 lug
