Not to mention they can activate the wirelessly anyway, even if it is turned off. The feds have been doing it for years.

Turn it off...problem solved during traffic stops. They can't scan what's not powered up. My EVO takes about 10 seconds to turn off.

Yeah yeah, our civil liberties are all being violated...just like they have been for years and years...get used to it baaaaaaa...i mean sheep.
lol, i dont think the creator of an all knowing phone scanning device couldnt overcome a simple power button.

This is the device, notice how it is plugged into the phone? I'm sure the jack-booted thugs know how to turn a phone on.

EDIT: fuck, everyone beat me to it.

Eeeeeeevery so often, they have a valid point. They're suing a school here on behalf of a student because the coaches outted the female softball player and her girlfriend in front of the team, then took it upon themselves to call both girl's parents and out them. I'm pretty sure the gesture was a bit redundant, and was completely uncalled for.

This phone snooping thing is ridiculous. Next thing you know, they'll have the right to access medical records without warrants and reconcile our checking accounts.

In my opinion, this violates the 4th amendment for any normal person. I can see it being used for drug dealers and such. But either way the use of this device should require a search warrant. Oddly enough, Police can conduct a WARRANTLESS search of an arresstee's cell phone while on scene of the arrest. Once the Arresstee is taken to the jail facility, than a warrant is needed by law to search that phone. I'm thinking that's where this device will get through the loophole.

If my supervisor told me to do this to an everyday soccer mom, I'd have words with him. If my supervisor ordered me to do it, and my ass was on the line, I'd do it then, but I'd complete an information report detailing the facts that I was ordered to do it so my ass is covered.

There's a big judgement to be made in that statement.

Thanks for the reply. There is always a battle between what is legal and what is right or wrong. I would hope that if the govt ordered the police or armed forces to turn on the public that they would stand up and refuse.
