  • British Airways 100k miles card

Some of you guys might be interested in this... 100k miles is good for:

4 domestic round trip tickets (if scheduled correctly)
    2 round trip tickets to Europe/South America/Asia
1 round trip business class to Europe/South America/Asia

You have to be a bit flexible with your schedule when using miles BUT this could be HUGE savings on airplane tickets. Some of the business class tickets can be $6000 round trip. The British Airways is partners with several other airlines including American Airlines which you can use your miles with.

You get 50k miles for signing up and using the card once. Then you get 50k more for spending $2500 in 3 months. If you cant spend that much on a credit card in 3 months (I cant) there are other ways around it including Amazon Payments (no charge for up to $1000/month), American Express gift cards (no fee for purchasing them until June 30), or paying 2-3% credit card transaction fees. Its $95/yr for the card and you can cancel it after you get your miles posted to your account (4th month).

So overall, even if you PAY for the credit card fees on $2500, you are spending $95+75 for 100k miles.

I did the last American Airlines 75k promo and it worked great.

You can buy people's tickets for them using AA miles, or if you really want to, you can "gift" them to the other person so they can buy their own.

I just booked tickets via AA for the woman and I to go to Vegas in June with miles.

I am asking because I will be travelling the same time as a few co workers but they are going somewhere else. I want to use my AAdvantage number on their ticket as well as mine to receive more miles. Is this possible?

I havent cancelled my AA card yet. Its coming in handy for the Vegas trip. Free $225 food voucher at the Wynn. But I will be cancelling after that.

Im not sure, but that sure would help. Never have tried to rack up miles buying someone else's ticket.

Your AAdvantedge number is linked to your name so if you use your number they will look for your name on the boarding pass.

                Been there, done that

Tell them to register and gift you the miles when they post.

Well that defeats the purpose at that point! ha
