    Communism can be polished and might be attractive to lots of people but if you ever plan on being something other than hungry and poor it's not the best form of government. The best definition of communism is spreading misery amongst the masses.

    I'm glad you are enjoying it, the country can be beautiful but the people aren't free to do as they please. The government might not be heavy handed where you are but if they ever decided they don't like something and try to protest the government is more likely to roll in with tanks and burn the city down than they are to listen and change.
    You Sir, are spot on.

    On my first trip to China (1 month stay) I was in awe of how friendly the people were and of the good food and scenery...much like UserX was with Vietnam. On my second trip (3 Week stay) I started noticing the soldiers stationed in public parks that were there to prevent any public assemblies. Ask a Chinaman if he has ever heard about what went on in Tianamen Square (not discussed in history classes) and they'll give you a blank stare. Hell, the internet was censored to the hilt!

    The Chinese and Vietnamese people are not free. On the outside, China and Vietnam might appear to be nice places and the common people are very nice and genuine, but due to their government, these countries have rotten cores.
