    yeah, TX isn't a Commiewealth

you can usually keep something off your record for $100-150+ fines/fees

I see a driving record as a form of credit. Perfect driving record = more roadside leniency from officers and a lot of field service gigs require a clean record.

I like to keep mine clean!

I'm thinking he just calls the judge and get deferred adjudication...IF he can keep the speed limit for 90 days.

depends on the municipality... down here, they won't let you do deferred for 27 over. some municipalities don't even offer deferred

but I've got a lawyer here local to me that charges $500 flat fee. if there are fines/fees/etc. they come out of that. I've never had one that he couldn't get dismissed. But he guarantees it won't be on your record. Every citation I've taken to him he got dismissed.

You gotta talk to the judge. The clerks can't/won't make a decision outside of their rules. I did 40 over once and spoke with the judge over the phone, citing my clean record, rare event, yada yada yada. He agree to deferred, got "his" money and all was good.

Oh indeed. I had a spotless record for 10 years here. Was stopped at least twice a year and was let go every time. Had a streak of bad luck and now have two tickets on my record and VA only allows defensive driving once every two years. They laugh at any differed adjudication reference. Last ticket I had was in Fairfax County. The cop wasn't even fucking there and they went on with proceedings anyway. Doesn't matter. From my understanding the DA can act on behalf of the cop. Cock suckers.
