Which is Exactly why I also said every single resume submission should be tailored...

And who are you kidding, I get calls and emails from recruiters daily with little relevance to what I do now. They jump on anything.

Look at several engineering companies for environmental health and safety engineering positions. Sound about qualified for that...but that's just a quick guess. I don't personally know you.

I have, but the require a degree in safety engineering. I applied for them anyways lol.

Problem is, most people in my field are men which makes it even harder to get a job. They see my name and realize I'm a girl and I'm not really taken seriously even though i meet the qualifications.

Very few women are in safety.

You had to know that going in, but still chose that career path.... That's on you, not potential employers.

I've said it before, but you're not hungry enough. "Jobs that don't pay shit" are still better than no income at all.

That's why i chose my career path to be honest. Nah I'm just in the position to not have to take a job that i will end up leaving whenever i find one that pays me decent. No point in taking a job that does not pay enough to pay 800.00 a month in childcare on top of rent i will have to pay. Makes no sense...

Anyways, we are way off topic. Anyone want to review my resume and help me out? Or know someone that will? Thats what the thread is about lol.

Not at my company. Our business wide goals include increasing the retention rate and employment numbers of female and minority engineers. It's easier to get a job and move up as a female...but it is still male dominated.

wat? You're telling me admin and office positions don't pay $800/month? Yeah, I don't buy it. What doesn't make sense is sitting at home with no benefits at all, making nothing. It's ok. You'll get there eventually.

Why are you being so hard on her? She sounds like she has been trying like hell, and is asking for advice.

No need to beat a woman while she is down.

Now if she keeps talking back, swing away.

If she's making $800 a month, but has to pay $800 a month in childcare to do so, does that make sense?

LOL you have to understand more about my situation to understand where I'm coming from. Unfortunitely I refuse to post that on the board like other people do.

I'm not being hard on her, Ashley is a friend. I'm just saying she's being too picky. Work is out there. She's been looking for a loooooong time. If it takes that long to find a job, you're being too picky, demanding too much $, or lazy. I know she's not lazy, so it's one of the first two options.
