Susan Bailey's murder made national news, and it was just 3 years ago. You'd THINK they would have caught on when they saw the name and that the house was in Roanoke. Even if they did know, they get through the loop hole.

Had a friend used to live in a murder house in Wylie when he was in HS. He said people treated him like a freak as if he had something to do with it. As if something was wrong with him and his Mom for living there for cheap rent and that was a good 15 years after it had happened.

He did say there were a couple of odd things that happened they couldn't explain but nothing major. He said in the laundry room there were chips in the concrete where the axe supposedly hit when Candy Montgomery was wailing away at Mrs Gore.

I would buy the house if it was in good shape, and for the right price, unless the killer is still on the loose.

They said that was a concern too, what if the killers came back when they got out, lol, I don't see why they would. She said they were not eligible for parole till like 2038 or something.

You sure you heard or understood your mom correctly?

You were spot on in post 41 in regard to disclosure. What I think your mom was saying is it's in the best interest of the agent/seller to disclose a homicide in/on the property.

I'd buy the house at the right price for sure and as long as my client was ok with the property and it met all their needs I would not advise any differently.

If it is bothering them that much then they should not buy it. They will just regret it and keep thinking about it.

They have looked for a month or so and finally found a nice 4 bedroom house at a dirt cheap price, got all the paperwork in order and things are moving along normally.

They go over yestrday after church to look around at it and the neighbor comes over and tells them that a lady was murdered in the house 5 years ago and it has sat empty since then. I guess a bank bought the house out of foreclosure and didn't know about it and so it never told them before now.

Question, would you still move in or would that be enough to keep you from a great deal?

I think I would still move in but they are religous and think it may be a bad omen.
hell yea I could and would do it. Heck I murdered my ex in the back den and my current wife nor do my kids know it and they are just fine.

Since it doesn't come out and say, "You must disclose murder," and it is written to say you don't have to disclose suicide, natural cause, or accident not related to the house. The minimal wording lends it to go in either direction. She's going on the business ethics principle, "if you have to ask if it should be disclosed, it's probably something that should be."

No, if he went to jail, that's cool. I know where he's at, and I can plan for when he gets out. If he was acquitted, that's fine too. I'm not worried about that dude. Now, you tell me they smooth don't know who did it? Fuck that, keep my name out your mouth, Real Estate Nate.

Mom and daughter got into a fight because mom hated daughter's boyfriend (obviously, for good reason), so they killed her. They're not coming back to settle a vendetta when they get out. Not sure how the little brother fit into the picture, but he should be getting out of juvie soon.

                          Lol she does. :-)

I'm just debating semantics at this point....I find it interesting that it's even something of concern addressed in the disclosure process.

I believe in ghost so i'd be freaked out and would stay away...But i'd get it and rent it out.

When we first moved into our house and started fixing it up we'd notice little stuff like tiny tiny spots of blood( or thats what it looked like) in the bathroom and one hallway.

The other door to the bathroom looked like it was broken into a lot by a flat head. I'm no CSI expert but i think the previous owner was a wife beater because my neighbor said he'd hang out with the previous owner and he'd drink a lot. The couple split and now the wife lives in Tennessee as for the husband, who knows.
