Had a friend used to live in a murder house in Wylie when he was in HS. He said people treated him like a freak as if he had something to do with it. As if something was wrong with him and his Mom for living there for cheap rent and that was a good 15 years after it had happened.
He did say there were a couple of odd things that happened they couldn't explain but nothing major. He said in the laundry room there were chips in the concrete where the axe supposedly hit when Candy Montgomery was wailing away at Mrs Gore.

Originally posted by ComeAgainJen View PostActually, I'm wrong. My mom just said homicide must be disclosed. Natural and accidental death not related to the condition of the house do not. I can't find anything in TREC property code that says anything about homicide, though.
You were spot on in post 41 in regard to disclosure. What I think your mom was saying is it's in the best interest of the agent/seller to disclose a homicide in/on the property.
I'd buy the house at the right price for sure and as long as my client was ok with the property and it met all their needs I would not advise any differently.

They have looked for a month or so and finally found a nice 4 bedroom house at a dirt cheap price, got all the paperwork in order and things are moving along normally.
They go over yestrday after church to look around at it and the neighbor comes over and tells them that a lady was murdered in the house 5 years ago and it has sat empty since then. I guess a bank bought the house out of foreclosure and didn't know about it and so it never told them before now.
Question, would you still move in or would that be enough to keep you from a great deal?
I think I would still move in but they are religous and think it may be a bad omen.
I kid, I kid

The minimal wording lends it to go in either direction. She's going on the business ethics principle, "if you have to ask if it should be disclosed, it's probably something that should be."

I believe in ghost so i'd be freaked out and would stay away...But i'd get it and rent it out.
When we first moved into our house and started fixing it up we'd notice little stuff like tiny tiny spots of blood( or thats what it looked like) in the bathroom and one hallway.
The other door to the bathroom looked like it was broken into a lot by a flat head. I'm no CSI expert but i think the previous owner was a wife beater because my neighbor said he'd hang out with the previous owner and he'd drink a lot. The couple split and now the wife lives in Tennessee as for the husband, who knows.Originally posted by 03trubluGTYour opinion is what sucks.
