I ended up going to the apple store as it was the easiest and convenient way.

They just replaced it free of charge, and normally it would have been 100. I think when I told them there was nothing on it to really save, they just swapped it and let it be.

Ok I guess. My wife was pissed when she had to go get all her contacts back though. I told her it is better her doing that than us spending $100.

oh, and I will never step foot in an Apple store again.

Don't get me wrong, they took care of me and I can't complain about that. I just didn't like standing for five minutes without someone saying something to me or the fact my appointment wasn't in their system. And besides, it is all overpriced shit.

Let's do some quick math as well. You saved $100, it took 5 minutes to get helped. That's $100 in 5 minutes. That's like $2,000 an hour. How did you set your appt? Online? Over the phone? Do you feel that having an appointment would've saved you that 5 minutes of your life you were robbed of?

I'm in no way defending an apple store since I've never been in one, but shit. Apple has nothing but overpriced shit, yet you're there to have your iPhone fixed (for free) which is made by apple.
