For lighter use (varmits, etc.), any of the V-max family do well.
Yea I was being serious. Thanks for the reply sir

Nosler also makes a 60gr Bonded bullet now that should work well also.

556 is plenty of gun for hogs, but shot placement helps a lot. A high shoulder shot right in line with the leg will drop them where they stand the majority of the time. The spine is actually fairly low in a hog and the vitals are very far forward compared to a whitetail. A shot in this location will take out both lungs and if not hit the spine will cause enough hydraulic shock to the spinal column to drop them.

That would be badass to go shot hogs like that, but I would be yelling "Get Some, Get Some" the whole time I was shooting them.

I was looking into Helicopter hunts last year and they are stupid expensive. I think it was $1500 per person and you had to go through their "training" which was $800 before they let you shoot at live targets.

All the while the hog problem gets worse.

Watched a show yesterday call Pig Man where Pig Man and Uncle Ted were shooting hogs in TX from a helicopter. Ted had a Full auto capable AR with 60 round mags. He went full auto a few times. Pig Man was shooting a semi Saiga 12ga with buckshot. I think their 2 day total was over 300 hogs. Was pretty awesome to watch and I would love to do it one day.

Buckshot from a chopper... that's interesting.
