    Picked up my new rifle

    Savage 10-PSR
    Distributor Special with 18" heavy threaded barrel, 5R rifling, and huge "tactical" bolt knob (will probably get replaced with something a little smaller/shorter. I added Nikon Prostaff 5 3.5-14x40 scope, JP Enterprises tactical comp., and Rockmount bi-pod.

    Worked up some trial handloads last night using Varget and 150gr SST's and 155gr Berger VLD's. May hit the range this weekend to sight it in and try my loads.

      Should be. When I can find some AR Comp powder, that will help. Should give me a 100% complete burn and have no overbore/unburned powder exiting the barrel which should help with noise...

          Think i'm going to pick up a 1-piece base as well.

          Who would you reccomend that won't break the bank? Not looking to do any competitions here...

                I have a JP on my 308, not any louder than other 308's I have fired.

                      Possibly, although mine is on a Ruger Scout which is also a fairly short barrel.

                        3fingerpete has that same brake on his AR.....I fucking hate shooting next to him when he busts it off and it his is just a .223 gun. That .308 is gonna piss off some folks at the range for sure.

                          The higher velocity makes it worse. My uncle has a 7mm Remington Magnum with a break and it is horrible, bad enough people packed up and left the range after a few shots.

                            I have the same brake on my DMR-AR, lol. Mostly because I liked shooting Adam's so much.
