  • My grandfathers gun cabinet

I inherited his old gun cabinet when he passed away roughly 15 years ago and never new it. My mom cleaned out a storage building and called and asked if I was gonna ever come get it. My exact response was "I was supposed to? I didn't even know it was mine!"

So anyway I went and picked it up, gave it a good cleaning, and here it is. I'm unsure of its exact age but I know it's older than I am(29).

Looks exactly like the one my grandfather used to have... I mean exactly...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

I've always wanted a nice gun cabinet, but after all my grandfathers guns were stolen after my cousin inherited them and the gun cabinet I can never own one.

I always wanted a nice one also, but I'm too concerned my shit would get stolen.

I wouldn't ever purchase one but I'm using it since it was his. I have a safe everything fits in if I'm gonna be out of town. My s/o works from home so it's very rare for anyone not to be home

That's good then. I might be tempted to put some of my cheap shotguns in one, shotguns are pretty inexpensive overall.

This is my thoughts on gun cabinets. I have seen some really nice ones too. It seems as these days, they aren't the best things to keep guns in. Maybe about 50 years ago.

Couple wall hangers would be nice for decoration.

I love the old wood cabinets. I know they are not the safest to protect your guns but I still love them. I made this one for my dad about 15 years ago and now its mine. It was a book shelf he got from his grandma, that sit in our garage the whole time I was growing up filled with tools. It had about 4 coats of paint on it. I sanded it down, made the doors, and converted it to a gun case.

                    Get a good house alarm.

Id only put older guns that arent very expensive in them. Example my muzzleloaders, flintlocks (they look nice) and maybe my ball and cap guns.

Anything worth value is in one of my gun safes. (Bolted down)

LOL @ Muscle Milk.... do you even lift?

Which safe is that? I am quickly running out of space in mine. My brother said the Sako barely fit in there and I still have my Versa Max Tactical sitting at the FFL that needs to go in as well.
