Taiwan? I'm shooting it tomorrow with the Russian ammunition. Hammered on the front site a bit to straighten it out. I have been told the elevation of these rifles have basically been sighted to hit a six foot target from zero to 100 yards on the lowest setting. Not sure how true that is so whatevs...
Head spacing test was done and it passed. What I found with the spent cartridges I have now is that if you push one into the chamber it gets caught about 3/4 of the way in. It can easily be pushed in, but there's more resistance. Measured the cartridge compared to an unfired one and there's about a .004" difference between the two. Of course an unfired cartridge goes in fine.

Shot it again today after doing more of the ritualistic bullshit of cleaning up the chamber and shooting two other different kinds of ammunition and it has made a big difference. Bolt was mildly difficult to open, but not like it was before. Shot 20 rounds in a row and the bolt was no more difficult to open than when the barrel was cool From the markings on the chamber it looks like there is a bur. After the range and while cleaning it I took a 7.62 brush on a drill and ran it trough the chamber again and that too has made a difference. I think I'll keep it after all. Cut a coil off the firing pin spring as well.
BTW... that loading two shells at once issue... it looks as though it only happens if the top shell rim is behind the next one. Loading stripper clips and keeping that in mind or loading the mag box then there are no worries.
Anyone have any suggestions on a cheap pistola scope?

I have only had the overlapping rim problem with mine, but I wrote that off as my failure to ensure proper overlap when loading the magazine. Of course, I have only put just over one hundred rounds through it.

Are you guys getting rimlock when using the strippers? I don't have any stripper clips and load from the top one round at a time. A couple hundred rounds through both the 91/30 and the carbine and have never gotten a rimlock jam ... yet .. lol.

You have to load the shells carefully into the clip and pay attention to the top one while pushing down into the mag box. There are videos galore that show "proper" ways to load clips. It also depends on the quality of clips. I bought a handful off Amazon and most of them load into the rifle just fine. Others are crap are in the trash.
