I got this shotgun in a bartering deal with my father in law. He got it from his dad who bought if from a guy in Pennsylvania 40 or so years ago. I took it out to shoot clays a couple of times and then decided I wanted to clean up the wood a bit.
This was my first refinish attempt so I used CJ's "POS refinish" thread as a guide, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I planned to stain it a red mahogany color but it turned out too dark and my sanding job was horrible. After I removed the stain and re-sanded the stock I decided to go with only Tru-Oil. It darkened it up just enough and I think the bare wood looks really nice.

My 0.02 for anyone wanting to try this:Learn from my mistake and take your time sanding, if you don't you will be disappointed with the finished product. It is monotonous, but it is very important. Do it right the first time or you will end up doing it twice.
