Sure, but at least some people in the military are getting the 416 or at least some variant thereof. Hell, the SAW is even getting replaced with it in some units.

Just taking some time to sink in. The HK is a much new rifle overall compared to the M16/M4 ones and has some similarities.

Whatever works best for our troops. Although, I do have whiney bone that I wish it were a US manufacturer making the weapons for our military.

Edit: 2 things, I'm hushing now - way off topic stuff. 2, just based that set of opinions above off a quick google search so I maybe wrong.

The HK 416 is just an M4 with a short stroke piston on it (this was first done decades ago). Also, they are now made at HK's new American production facility in Newington, New Hampshire.

That's just misrepresented data, when you fire a DI rifle that much you're going to have stoppages.

Example - you fire an M16 for 4,000 rounds. It has 50 jams. It fired 3,950 times completely reliably, the last 50 rounds jammed. Result? Clean your shit.

I was really hoping that chart would get under someone's skin. But I like AR180s! They were the foundation for all modern short stroke piston guns.
