I think the "best gun" argument is just like the "best auto maker" argument.
Each gun serves a purpose, and I actually own a smorgasbord of guns from Ruger, Winchester, Remington, Glock, S&W, Kimber, Savage, Romanian WASR, Colt, Bushmaster, Spikes, Marlin, etc... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.
Oh, and when it becomes available from GT Distributors, I'll buy back my Sig Sauer P220 in .45 ACP that I carried for a couple of years.
One of our officers was burned to death by a drunk in December of 2006:
My best friend at work was assigned to the same sector/shift and was responsible for getting his duty gun that was burned in the fire. He took it to the range and the armorer changed the grips that had melted and it actually fired. The gun still functioned flawlessly, but it was sent to Sig for refurb and then it was presented Dwayne's widow.
The fire marshal that worked the scene said that the temps can reach in excess of 1200 degrees.
That's a torture test no Glock could withstand.Comment
