It wasn’t terribly long. I have some paperwork on stuff my dad did and it was probably 12-18 months. The stuff he bought in 70s took forever.

Depending on who the dealer was it could be under 10 months or as much as 2 years. I can no longer remember the NFA dealer out of Grapevine (who is a total dick) but his paperwork was always perfect and your shit got approved the first go-round.
