What numb nuts at what PD thought that this rifle was not legal? Good save. I hate to think of that rifle getting torched.
I love HKs but never understood why anyone would want to pay what the PSG1 cost when 4 NM M1As could be had for the same money that will shoot just as well and are not as finicky as the HK.Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

The HK sniper rifles had a reputation of being a fancy toy for SWAT teams with big budgets and a well deserved reputation for not being very reliable. I still love them as much as you do and am floored that you managed to get your hands on one. I have seen copies for sale before but never a factory built gun for sale in person.
Edit: I take that back. I saw one at the SHOT show when it was in Dallas but I do not believe it was for sale and list price was around 5k back when 5k was serious money.Last edited by svauto-erotic855; 02-18-2016, 12:44 AM.Magnus, I am your father. I would argue that the M14 was the worst rifle the US has ever fielded.
That said, are you really going to make the case that HK roller delayed blowback guns lack reliability? Or just precision rifles?
Either way, I have an MSG90 with the same action as the PSG1 down to the titanium, crescent shaped rollers and I dont clean it. It runs like crazy.
The HK action is reliable but there is more to a gun then just its action. Your rifle is a package and the sum total of the parts in the package is what degrades its reliability. It has a reputation of feeling like you are shooting a 2x6 and it must be held the way HK wanted it held or the a accuracy will be effected. Go head to head against a match grade M1A at 800-1000 meters and you will experience the limitations of the package that HK provided; at 600 meters you will beat a top grade M1A by a small margin.
I still love your new gun.Last edited by svauto-erotic855; 02-18-2016, 08:12 AM.Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.
