regarding the 25 raven, when I lived out in BFE at one time,
I hung a steel skillet at what was probably 40 yds, and we would sit on the porch drinking beer and trying to hit the skillet with a raven 25. One day i took a piece of radiator hose and fitted it to the the thing, and suddenly we could get drunk as crap and hit it over and over. But no one else could.
It was fun times. Until this huge stash of 25 i had was gone. I think I traded it for an FMX tranny after that.Comment

I had a full size M&P 40 right after they came out and it was great. It's a tad tricky to tear down, but it's no Ruger MkII/III.
For the compact, I really prefer the M&P to the XD, it just looks and feels better to me.

Range report: Went to Shoot Smart today and put 100 rounds of WWB 165 grain through it. B-27 target. First 50 rounds, mix of slow and rapid fire, every round inside the 9 ring (most were actually bulls) at 5 & 7.5 yards. Second 50 rounds, all but one round inside the 8 ring at 7.5 and 10 yards. The one flyer was almost touching the 8 ring. For a compact pistol at those (normal defensive) ranges, I am more than pleased.
