  • My New Build

This is my newest build, unfortunatly I didn't know about Sabre Defences problems before. Sbre Defense lower from 556 tactical with magpul buttstock I assembled last night. The upper is an 18" Sabre Defense competition upper. I could n't pass up the deal I got on it at the time. Sorry for the crappy cell pics.

Looks like a couple of winners to me. Just as a heads up though, a couple of people will probably bitch about your grips.

excellent choice. I wouldn't worry in the slightest. My personal opinion is Sabre makes one of the very best AR-15's money can buy. I'm sure just their reputation and namesake will merit someone purchasing them and continuing their product line.

I still have the factory grip on my long range gun - works just fine. It shows you're not some overindulgent ostentatious AR owner.

I might change the grips eventually but they do not bother me. Hopefully I can get my new one out to shoot this weekend. It was my first time building a lower and it was pretty easy. My friend in Shreveport is a dealer for Sabre so he gets really good deals on their stuff, plus he has some of his own. Both lowers are Sabre but with his stamping on them.

lol, ya'll seem a little wound up in this forum. Not 2 days ago, in another thread someone posted a perfectly acceptable weapon and the only gripe was about the grips.

I see nothing wrong with stock either. In fact, based on that thread I went and bought new grips and really am not that impressed. Probably money better spent on a couple boxes of ammo to be honest.

Haha! You know speaking of that! I drove all the way to Cabelas to look at a hogue grip. Because of that thread. To see what the fuss was about. I couldn't justify spending the $20 just for that. My grip works fine.

hehe, nice to know I'm not the only one then. If I'm being honest though, I had been driving around the mesquite area looking for good gun places. (w/ good ammo prices, accessories that I needed...etc) After about the 4th one I just wanted to buy SOMETHING. So I bought that and some metal magazines.

Haha. What's up with the metal mags? Do they load better? I see a lot of people at the range with them. I use pmags and they work great. Just didn't know if they load better? Or cheaper? Or looks?
