  • Used Dillon Super 1050 Value

I have the opportunity to buy one of these at what seems like a reasonable price considering their MSRP. I cant find many used examples and wanted to see what you guys thought it may be worth.

I think everything was purchased around the whole confiscation/registration hysteria and loaded maybe a couple hundred rounds if that. It is dusty but appears near new.

    -Dillon Super 1050
-- powder check die, low powder indicator, and RF100 Auto primer filler
    -- 9mm conversion and dies
-2 boxes Berrys 115gr FMJ projectiles
    -2 Hodgdon tite group
    -1 Hodgdon HS-6
    -CV2001 Brass Cleaner
    -Chicago Ulrasonic Cleaner
    -Digital powder scale
-Some pistol cartridge boxes and digital calipers

I'd offer half of retail, and see where he goes, but realistically, I'd offer 85% of what Dillon wants. Anything non-Dillon in this deal is just a sweetener, so don't get hung up on bullshit like bullets and powder and media.

That's also a baller tumbler. Offer $1,500 and see what happens. I'd say that's about $2,500 there.

Just FYI, if you're new to reloading, this might not be a good idea for a first machine. These machines are generally purchased to run a single caliber. Conversions/tuning are quite a pain in the ass.

I planned to flip it and pick up a single stage to get started.

If you can grab it cheap, I'll trade you a single stage, dies, and ton of components.

That's nice I've been looking at a 650 or 1050. Have two single stage presses. Would like a progressive.

                      I highly recommend either a 550 or 650.

To finish his? Has he not started using his machine yet?

Hell no.... He's had it since sometime last year and hasn't finished setting it up. His buddy has one that he used to use but decided to buy his own.

Hehe, that's why I was about to say now I see why he says 1050 or bust. They are good machines, but they don't have a lifetime warranty, and caliber conversions are intensive.
