Ok so I just reloaded 60 rounds. Maybe it takes some getting used to or learning about or something. Is there anyway adjust the spring thing that holds the case against the shell plate? When it indexes from the deprime position to the reprime position it is letting the shell come partly out of the shell plate, so when I go to seat the primer it is off. I probably messed up 8 or so primer/cases. And some of them were a little off so it just seated the primer crooked. I threw all of the questionable ones out, but I was wondering if there was anyway to avoid this issue. And I can see how it would do it if I was going 500 miles an hour, but I was going pretty slow. Thanks for any input.

I believe that's just a piece of spring steel and there should be screw to move it and reposition it on the 650 if i remember right. if not you should be able to bend it and adjust the tension on the case in the deprime/ prime station.

Awesome rig man. I Just spent all my gift card money on componants yesterday. There is nothing like a couple hundred free v-max completed rounds for free.

That spring looks like it holds it into the shell plate. Wouldn't it only get worse without it?

Spring needs to stay in place or it will allow the case to float out. You could have your shell plate a little loose as well. This can cause your primer seating problem.

Nah, it causes you nothing but problems. It tends to keep the brass canted which can cause your dies to get torn up. Most all of the dillon guys on brianenos.com remove them. I personally can load considerably faster without the stage 1 spring. As mentioned a loose shell plate can cause primer issues, debris in the primer ram can also cause issues. These machines take a while to get dialed in. You'll eventually learn all it's quirks and be in business.

Why yes, yes it is. I believe it was you that posted the link up when they were on sale. I freakin' love that bag. Great for matches, and big range days. I especially like the removable pistol bags.

The shell plate was installed by dillon, so I'm assuming it's good. I'll check next time I go upstairs, lol I'm lazy. But I loaded another 40 rounds today and only messed one primer up. So maybe it was a little bit of operator error. So far I'm amazed from how easy everything is, I figured it would be way more steep of a learning curve. Not to say that I know everything, but I didn't expect it to be this easy to start making rounds. I'm planning on shooting my first 100 tomorrow.

Once you shoot your first reloaded rounds you'll get the butterflies out and want to start pumping them out. Like I said, reloading is easy .

So it's not just me, lol. Everyone has some worries about their first reloaded rounds, as far as shooting. But I mean it's simple. Make sure you are throwing correct charges, and really not much else can go wrong. I checked them with my case gauge and they were good, so I shouldn't have any issues. Cross my fingers, lol.

So I went shooting, and the rounds were fine. I'm pretty excited about it. Now I need to get a chrono so that I can start messing with lighter loads.

You can seat of the pants it before then. Chrono's are really best for max charging and finding high precision consistency (in rifle rounds). For light loads - it either cycles or it doesn't. And it's pretty easy to hear a sonic crack.

Well in some of the matches I shoot, you have a power factor to watch out for.

I would presume on the low end? Excessive charges would make you less effective.
