  • Finally getting around to building my first ar15

From what I understand, this pile of parts is supposed to be a firearm somehow.

There's going to be some masking and some duracoat or cerakote going on. I am also going to order the JP tank brake that was posted last week, just because it looks cool.

Put the LPK in the lower, install the buffer tube and pop that upper on and you have a rifle. Shouldnt take more than 10-15 minutes tops, though if it takes you longer that is okay too.

I was being a little facetious. I don't think there'll be any problems. I've disassembled/reassembled the lower on my other rifle before. This will just be the first time I do it from a bag of parts.

I am. Considering doing the lower on my XD40 in FDE. Problem is that it is my primary carry gun, so I would want fast turn around.

The upper was $530 and it came with the BCG/charging handle.

I think I'm gonna do it myself. Not 100% right now.

The beta mag was a christmas present last year, when all the mag-limit fear was running rampant. I've got quite a few 30-round magpuls laying around; although with this one I'll probably get some 20 rounders too.

Why? Are 30 rounders getting too played out?

No, but when shooting from a bench/table I like the shorter mag. It stops me from resting the rifle on the magazine while shooting(being lazy).
