Built out a few lowers. Finished out 5 regular lowers which were completely bare. Then tried my hand at the New Frontier Lowers. Well, one of them at least.
The NFA that I built, will be a .22lr pistol and if I like the way it runs, I will submit the Form 1 for the NFA to make a real NFA.
It took just a bit of work. All the holes needed to be drilled and cleaned up of flashing and smoothed out. The Mag release took some more work. I had to fit the release bar into the lower.
The mag release button does not thread as many times as a regular receiver allows.
The uppers don't seal up in the back BUT they fit tight and no wobble like you get with to aluminum pieces.
The front take down pin does not protrude from the lower at all. So to knock it through will take a little help if when you want to split the upper and lower.
The rear "head" took some filing to clear the receiver and lock in but not much. Integrated trigger guard is nice not to have to fool with.
