    AR Assembly Question

    Got my first rifle assembled from parts instead of just pinning a store bought lower to an assembled lower. The only question I have is if there is a way to check to see of the gas block is aligned correctly short of taking it to the pit and firing it?

    No Coke can handy for reference so I used a nosy cat instead.

    Pull barrel from rig.
    Plug receiver end with finger.
    Blow in the business end.
    No air flow? Bad alignment.
    Moderate air flow? Poor alignment.

      Hell, I would just test fire the damn thing after eyeballing the alignment from the upper, down the barrel.

      If it doesn’t cycle, probably have a misaligned gas block...if it cycles, rinse and repeat

        Lol with my luck the wife would walk in just about the time I put the barrel to my lips and not notice the rest of the rifle missing.

              You don't need to pull the barrel. Curt Cobain that barrel (remove flash hider or deep throat) make sure you have a seal, stick your pinky in the chamber to plug it and blow. You should hear/feel air on the top of your finger comign out of the gas tube. If you can feel that air you're good.
