I was ready to toss this trigger and buy a new one for it. It was so heavy that I would strain when I got it to break. I noticed that some rifle makers are tuning this trigger like the old Remington trigger. I did some tinkering, and some reading. I found this to be the safest way to adjust it.

Don't get me wrong, my match rifle has a Timney #510u and my last one had a Jewel.
You can't get a lot of people to spend $300 on a scope, let alone $250 on a trigger. I have a Timney sitting in the safe I was going to drop into this, but I though, hell I'm just going to adjust it myself. Now maybe I can save it towards my wife's precision build. She liked the idea of shooting a match, so I'm looking at tossing something together for her.

I agree, bolt actions aren't just long range rifles.
In the video I'm adjusting a 16 inch 300 blackout that I shoot subsonics out of.
I'm not against shelling out bucks for good stuff. The X-Mark Pro is standard on all 700s now. If it's just awful and you just want to fix it now, well... that's what I made the video for. Hell it's easy to do, you just scrape some glue off, and then turn a screw. BAM trigger improvement.

Dieselgeek, who would you send a build to that is local to drop my action in the stock and do the trigger? Maybe work true up the bolt and install a larger knob.
I have plenty of time (7-8) months for it to sit.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I've had work done and guns built by Matt Parry, GA Precision, Accurate Ordnance, and Short Action Customs. All of them have been awesome.
You should just ship it if you have time to wait. Get it rebarrled, new stock, etc.
If you're already gone and need someone to ship it, let me know. I'm sure I can help.Last edited by dieselgeek; 03-22-2013, 04:40 AM.

Just depends on what you do w/ the trigger. If you're going to spend 5 days out shooting it in the dirt and elements, you want to flush a Jewell out w/ lighter fluid. They do break nicer, and have a better feel, but my #510u has proved to be a very nice crisp trigger that I don't have to worry about.

Nothing wrong w/ that. Before I figured this out, the first thing I wanted to do was rip the trigger out of it.
