The charge area (usually within a grain or so +/-) will group pretty close together compared to the rest, now there is gonna be some vertical dispersion given the velocity variations. After finding the charge area that groups decent I then load multiple rounds in that area. The decent accuracy of the varying charges is caused by the harmonics of the bullet moving at the same relative speed causing the bullet to leave the barrel at relatively the same spot in the barrels vibration.

      aint that the truth....

      <---needs to learn MUCH more

And btw, I am hand measuring each of these charges, I am not relying on a auto disk or anything unitl I get a charge nailed down.

I honestly was more worried about accuracy, but I guess you could be 99% accurate but not much velocity...kind of like tug-o-war huh?

        Interesting, I must say.

There is usually a node at the higher end of the velocity but sometimes it is not achievable without hitting pressure signs.

It is the best way to save components and barrel life. Some cartridges it is best done at the 250 range or farther depending the intended use of the load/combo.
