I guess I need a little place holder thread. I dropped off a long-action 700 ADL at the smith yesterday, and ordered a new tube from Hart for it. It's getting a .280AI barrel, in a #7 contour, with a brake for now. Today I ordered a Manners T6A, with their mini-chassis. It sucks that there isn't an AI mag for '06-based cartridges, but if the worst thing that happens is I have to tweak some feed lips, or maybe carve a new follower, I'm ok with that. Delrin is cheap(ish). I guess I should've taken a picture of the plain-jane ADL, but I don't actually care about those. I think I'll get a 20MOA rail from Seekins. Any opinions about what I should do for a mount? One piece (LaRue, etc.)? TPS rings? What about a scope? I was leaning toward that Vortex Viper like CJ has. It's a 6-24x50, FFP scope. Thoughts?

I did a one piece LaRue mount, and had the smith bed it. As long as it's bedded properly I don't think that it's an issue. It surely hasn't affected my accuracy.04 2.6 KB'd Cobra!

Yall talked me into a 700 build on the AR caliber thread. I'm going to do a Tac-21 SA chassis build in .308. I wanted to do a 30-06 build as well, but the chassis I want isn't set up for it. Will be cool to see how two builds of the same rifle end up in different directions.
