My Savage (and myself) would get raped bad at any kind of competition I think."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

Regardless your savage is shooting very well - and it's on par with many that shoot bench - at least that group is.

Yeah I know, but I really want to try out the 6mm BR cartridge. Like you said it is one of the 3 most accurate cases out there. This Savage is a great platform, I think, to kind of test the waters. I don't know though, just stuff I am thinking about.

There's nothing wrong with going that route at all and it definitely works. If you do just remember it's built for the lighter 6mm pills not the slick 100's and most if not all of the people getting outstanding results with the 2 6mm's are using FB bullets not a BT."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

I worded that a little wrong implying it won't handle the heavy 6's when it's more that the common twist won't, the case will just at a loss in velocity compared to the more common LR 6mm's.
The guy that built my 7mm runs all 6mm PPC and uses flat base bullets from a guy named Ronnie Cheek and he flat out won't shoot anything else. You may want to look into him if you go that route."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

I never new that either from what I gathered they work great inside of 300yds as long as the velocity is high enough, after that he said BT is the only choice for better wind deflection and retained velocity, my thinking is if the BT is good for the long stuff it should be equally as good at short range.
And thanks I'm really liking the stock so far just need to get some trigger time with it now."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"
