  • latest reload batch savings

Thought I might post this to show the savings of reloading. This is my cheap plinking batch of .223.

    (500) Winchester 55gr fmjbt projectiles.....$39.00
    (500) CCI small rifle primers.......................$12.50
    (500) .223 cases............................................. $0.00
    (500) IMR-4198 Powder*.............................$19.97

    Total............................................. .................$71.47

Not too bad, that's about 14 bucks per 100 rounds.

    *8lbs IMR-4198......119.00, 8lbs=56000gr, 18.8gr per round, 18.8 x 500=9400gr, 9400/56000=.1678, .1678 x 119.00=$19.97

      Great price...IF you have cases.

It is a lot of work though to trim cases and what not.

It's relative, most once shot brass needs no trim. I use a powered trimmer, can do about 10 cases a minute or so. For long range ammo it takes quite a bit for precision.
