  • Ruger 10/22 Magnum (again)

Still considering building a Ruger 10/22 magnum. I think I can probably build one for around $500 or so. Typically they sell between 800-1000. So it's worth the time invested, but I'm debating whether or not I really need one. It just seems like a real fun project to build a familiar action and end up with a gun that's has a little more potential then a paper puncher. Anyone here ever fired a 10/22 magnum that could lend some insight on how they perform?

Well here is what you'll need to begin:

        $287 80% receiver.

        $28.95 Drill jig

        $187.00 Barrel

        $13.95 Barrel V-Block kit

        $59.19 Trigger Group

$576.09 If you have none of these parts laying around. Still a bargain for the only semi auto .22WMR I know of. You'll just need a stock and a magazine.

What kind of a stock? Will the Hoque overmold fit?

How about I give you $500 to build one for me as the test bed.

Oh, we could thread the barrel to a standard M4 flash hider and mount my G5 to it. I wouldn't think a standard .22lr suppressor would handle the gas volume difference.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

If I'm not mistaken the .22 mag rugers are longer, it would need to be a .22 mag stock. If you're using a quality .22 suppressor it will be rated for .22WMR usually. My sparrow is rated for it.

So nothing from a standard 10/22 swaps over, correct? Or just the FCG?

One can never have too many guns...

Build, and they will be shot.

your trigger group swaps, and I believe the v-block does as well.

Their jigs seem to work really well, pretty quality if you ask me. here is a construction of their 10/22 receiver.

So what is the hold up then?

Edit: I need a damn drill press. I am not sure why I have gone on this long without one.
