Push A2 sight to the front, take it to MGS and have them drill the barrel in the new rifle length location.
I guess the A2 isn't simply held in by the tension of the roll pins? Cost location?

The A2 will be held in by either a tapper or straight pin. Most factory installed FSB will use a solid pin not a roll type. You need to verify before you try to punch them through so you know which way to hammer. All the ones that I have punched off, I have had to heat the block with a mini torch and use a BFH. Once you move the pin the slightest they will push right through. But that first budge can be a bitch.

Military Gun Supply over off of 820 near E Berry. Cost about $40-50.

You can measure the barrel diameter. Let me find my old thread and get the numbers. I want to say you will find it to be .730"+/-.010. If it is smaller than that it isn't gonna work without some sort of shims.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I have a rifle length UTG quadrail for triangle end caps I need to get rid of.

FWIW I would get a $100 free float rail from red x, low pro gas block, and a set of magpul flip up sights. Troy and other companies make free float rails that use a factory barrel nut if you dont want to swap it.

I want to try and keep this a budget minded rifle. Looking around, it would be nice to find a clamp style front sight block. Would save having to have the barrel drilled.
