I want a Remington 700 VTR in .308. Just need to decide what I'm gonna do with this Thompson Center Encore I have on my hands first.

Very nice - to both. That coating inside the flutes looks interesting, never seen anything like that before.

It has a 300 Win Mag Barrel on it right now and I have no use for that type of barrel. so thinking of maybe selling the barrel and getting a .308 barrel and seeing how it works out for me.

                  no doubt he's spoiled.
kid might not have shit for work ethic getting everything he wants, but the fuck if he can't shoot great!
j/k man. that's cool you teach the kid shooting skills, more power to you!

Just got two more bolts done by Long Rifles Inc. Had them do a bolt knob on the long action bolt as I didn't already have a badger on it.

I sure hope you kept track of which bolt came out of which gun...

I was hoping you could find the humor in that.

Hmm, Rich what is the regular rate for this? Thinking I should do it on my Rem 600.

Normally he charges $100 plus, most places I've found want about the same.

I actually sent a bolt out to another vendor on the Hide to have a knob installed, the bolt handle secured and bolt fluted. The vendor had my bolt for three months and only installed the knob and secured the handle.

All the bolts I've sent to Long Rifles have been done and back to me in a week for less money and the work & customer service has been excellent.

I'm gonna buy another 700 just so I can have him do another one.

Next group buy he is running will be for action blueprinting fyi...

I prefer to do my own actions. Not a bad price for bolt work.
